Spring Open House

Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 09:30 AM until 03:30 PM

Cleveland Institute Art

When you choose a college, you're choosing a lifestyle, too. Find out if CIA is right for you. At our Open House, you will meet faculty, learn about our academic programs, visit students' personal studios, and tour our entire campus, located within Cleveland's cultural hub, University Circle.

You’ll see that CIA provides each student with individual studio space on campus as soon as they enter their major; that our equipment—from printing presses and kilns to 3D printers and a digital screening room—is state-of-the-art; and that our neighborhood is the cultural hub of Cleveland. We’re a short walk to the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and the Cleveland Botanical Garden. And we’re surrounded by the shops and restaurants of Uptown and the restaurants and galleries of Little Italy.

CIA alumnus Brian Peterson will serve as the keynote presenter for our spring Open House. After graduating from CIA with a BFA in Industrial Design in 2009, Brian Peterson launched an automotive design career that eventually led him to his current position as interior designer for Kia in Santa Ana, California. Moved by the significant homeless population there, he was inspired to create his most recent project: Faces of Santa Ana. After befriending many homeless individuals during his bike rides to work, Peterson connected with them to give a face to the homeless community by painting images of his new friends. His work is being displayed in downtown Santa Ana and proceeds from sales of the portraits go to rehabilitation efforts for the individuals portrayed.

Check out the preliminary agenda for this exciting day! Our events fill up quickly, so register early! We look forward to having you on our campus soon!
